About Us

The Gear & Triangle Honor Society is a collection of student leaders on the Stevens campus aimed to further unite our college community through principles of Honor, Fellowship, and Spirit. Since its founding in 1919, G&T has consistently made an effort to enhance all aspects of student life.

Our Principles

Honor

Our members hold honor to the highest standard, and practice this principle in the academic, extracurricular, and professional settings. The society hosts workshops regarding the Stevens Honor System, as well as events like the Ethics Bowl on campus.

Fellowship

G&T members share their Stevens experiences through fellowship within the society. Together, we are able to collaborate and encourage each other to remain active student leaders, while also encourage the rest of the student body to get involved.

Spirit

As a society, we promote school spirit in all aspects of student life. We support each others' organizations and clubs, and are always encouraging all Stevens students to attend campus events. Last year, we initiated "Duck Days" - Stevens' annual Spirit Week.

Our Membership

Founded in May 1919, Gear & Triangle is Stevens' honorary, non-secret society founded on the principles of Honor, Fellowship, and Spirit. These are essential qualities of the true Stevens man and woman and the successful engineer. The Society was created and organized by seven undergraduates of the class of 1921, and the first meeting was held on May 2, 1919.

Membership

The purpose of Gear & Triangle is two-fold.

First: to honor those who have demonstrated their ability and leadership in the extracurricular field.

And second: to initiate those leaders into this society to foster a better and stronger college spirit at Stevens.

The members of G&T have historically influenced the student and campus life at Stevens, and continue to do the same today

Dean's Activities List

To promote a similar participation in campus activities among younger students, the Society has developed the Dean’s Activities Honor List. Fall 2017 applications are closed! Congratulations to our new DAL members!

G&T Leadership Retreat

Every year, G&T organizes a Leadership Retreat open to all Stevens students. Through workshops, team-building exercises, and outdoor activities, the retreat allows participants to learn more about being a leader on and off campus.

Duck Days

Duck Days is Stevens' annual Spirit Week hosted and organized by G&T. Campus wide events allow the entire student body to show school pride. Some events include: sports games, karaoke night, trivia games, etc.

G&T Award Application

The Gear & Triangle alumni established this award in 1991 in order to recognize returning sophomores who were very active in their freshman year. The recipient of this award also reflects the principles set forth by the founding members since 1919. This prestigious award will be presented at Convocation in Fall 2017.
